Latest figures show 99% of homes and businesses in Warrington South now have access to gigabit broadband (30Mbps or faster), thanks to investment from HM Government. Nationally the figure is 80% according to 'Think Broadband', up from just 6% in 2019.
As part of Project Gigabit, the Government have made over £2 billion of funding available to support the deployment of gigabit-capable broadband to a further 1.1 million premises in hard-to-reach areas across the UK.
Andy Carter has been working with rural communities in Warrington South which weren’t included in the planned rollout to deliver community broadband schemes and where fixed line broadband isn’t an option Andy is also exploring satellite and 5G connections.
