Andy Carter MP with Justice Minister

Today Andy Carter MP has been at Warrington Law Courts with Justice Minister Mike Freer MP, meeting with Magistrates, Legal Advisers and Court Staff - hearing more about the work being done to ensure open and effective justice is delivered speedily.

We’re making progress. Across the UK since 2010:

⬇️ Violent crime is down 51%

⬇️ Neighbourhood crime is down 48%

⬇️ Theft is down 46%

Our prison population has grown because those who have committed serious crimes are going to prison for longer. It was good to hear about the restorative work being undertaken to help those who find themselves in court for less serious offences put on a pathway to help them sort their lives out and keep them out of future trouble.
